Is Twitter Testing for Advertisements? Does it Matter?
Posted by: Stuart In: Internet| Internet News| Predictions
Many people have wondered how Twitter will be able to survive without any advertising. Though millions of SMS, 3rd Party Client, and Automatic Tweets there are per day, users have yet to be burdened with contextual advertising of any kind. Well today, it seems as if a limited amount of Twitter accounts have a new spot under the user’s statistics, which displays two tiny adverts: one discussing Twitter Widgets and another discussing the Search API.
Is Twitter testing this area to see if it will suffice as a profitiable area for tiny advertisements? Or, are they simply trying to promote their own features until they become more mainstream? Does it even make a difference? I guess we’ll all find out soon.
